Ingredients:
1 cup bread crumbs
8 tablespoons butter
1 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
6 apples or pears or peaches, peeled, cored and chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Procedures:
1) Generously butter baking dish. Mix spices with fruit and brown sugar. Place in the baking dish.
2) In a small bowl, whip the eggs with the vanilla. In a separate bowl, using a fork, mix the breadcrumbs with the white sugar.
3) Top fruit with crumb mixture and pour melted butter over breadcrumbs - covering thoroughly. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
4) Serves 8
this recipe looks really good and interesting... funny but it used to remind me of the kind of bread my brother and I used to play with when we were kids...I think they called it "pan de racion" then we used to scoop the bread inside to make it look like a bowl and then put the champorado inside hehe

ReplyDeleteIt look too yummy. This is the first I see a bread topped with fresh fruits. I could say or even describe this kind of bread: a bread fortified with vitamin C. How's that?
